Privacy notice

This website is operated by Susman Insurance Agency. This notice describes what the site collects, why, and what you can ask for. It is written for this website specifically rather than borrowed from anywhere else.

What the forms collect

There are four request forms on this website and each asks for a different, deliberately short list of information. Nothing is requested beyond what is needed to reply sensibly.

  • The note on the front page asks for your name, your email address, and which subject your question is about.
  • The homeowners page form asks for your name, your email address, the ZIP code of the property, and what kind of home it is.
  • The auto page form asks for your name, your email address, the ZIP code where the vehicle is kept, and how many vehicles are on the policy.
  • The request page form asks for your first and last name, your email address, your ZIP code, whether you would rather have an email or a telephone reply, a phone number if you choose a call, the topic, and any note you care to add.

No form on this website asks for a Social Security number, a driver's licence number, a bank or card number, medical information, or details of alarms, entry or account access. If you are ever asked for any of those by something claiming to be this website, it is not us.

What happens to a submission

When you submit a form, the information is checked and then sent as an email message to the agency. The email carries a random reference number and identifies which website and which page it came from, so that a reply can be matched to the right enquiry. Your email address is used as the reply address on that message.

Your network address is not placed in the email. Submissions are not written to a database on this website, are not kept in your browser, and are not stored in a log of message contents. Once the message has been sent, this website retains nothing further about it. The email itself is then handled under the agency's ordinary business practices for correspondence.

Each form is protected against automated abuse by a check that runs in the background while you fill the page in. It requires no action from you and involves no third-party puzzle or image test.

Measurement of visits

This website measures visits using its own software running on equipment the agency controls, and has done so since the site first went online. There is no advertising network, no social network button, and no Google measurement code anywhere on these pages.

No cookie is set for measurement, and you are not asked to consent to one because none is used. Two bytes of every visitor address are removed before anything is stored, so the address held is deliberately incomplete, and any approximate location is derived from that shortened address rather than a precise one. Query strings are stripped from referring web addresses. Visits are never linked across different websites. Raw visit records are deleted after ninety days.

If your browser sends a Do Not Track signal or a Global Privacy Control signal, no measurement is recorded for your visit at all. That decision is made before anything reaches the agency's equipment.

Telephone calls

If you speak to the agency by telephone, a call may be recorded for training or quality assurance. If you would rather it were not, you may ask that the call not be recorded. Recordings and client information are not shared with third parties or affiliates without legal authority.

Messages and announcements

If you ask the agency to keep you informed, you may tell us to stop at any time and the announcements will stop. Any text-message invitation the agency sends will identify the brand, state the expected message frequency, note that message and data rates may apply, and give HELP and STOP instructions.

Children

The agency does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under thirteen. A child under thirteen must have a parent or guardian's permission before using this website.

Changes to this notice

The agency may revise this privacy statement as its practices or the law change, and you should review it periodically so that you know what applies. The effective date at the top of this page shows the current version.

Questions about this notice

Use the request form on this website and choose the Privacy topic. That reaches the same people and keeps your question with the rest of your correspondence. There is no separate privacy form to fill in.
